Family Bonding: Gardens by the Bay – Skywalk

One of the places we like to bring our kids to is Gardens by the Bay. It is a perfect place for family outings. We love the greenery of the place and there is ample space for the kids to run around. A luxury in a concrete jungle where we live in!

When we first visited Gardens by the Bay, one of the places we really wanted to go was the Skywalk. Whenever we passed by the Gardens along the expressway, we could always see this long, hanging bridge suspended in mid-air, intertwining between the supertrees. They always remind me of the movie Avatar. πŸ™‚

We brought the kids to the Skywalk one day and had a really beautiful time there. It was really peaceful at the Skywalk that day, as there were just a few other people around. The boys were joking that they felt like they were in the game “Temple Run”, which by the way, is one of their favourite on the ipad!

Although we were there on a Sunday, it doesn’t feel overcrowded at all, due to the huge space available in the Gardens. We saw some families sitting on the grass with their picnic mats. Some were lying on the grass, simply basking in the peace and sunlight.

A new Children’s Garden has just opened this month (January 2014).
We’re looking forward to bring our kids there!

If you’re looking for a green spot in our tiny concrete jungle, be sure to check out Gardens by the Bay.

Entrance to the Outdoor Gardens is FREE, but tickets are needed for entry to the Cooled Conservatories (which we have not visited) and the Skywalk.

Ticketing info for Skywalk:
$5 per adult
$3 per child (3-12 yrs old)
