Solution for Hazy Days: Novita Air Purifier

Haze is not something new in Singapore. In recent years, we have been affected by haze during the hot and dry months. One of the items that many wish to own when haze hits is a powerful air purifier.

Novita has added a new air purifier to their wide range of products: The Novita PuriClean™ Air Purifier NAP 620

When my two boys first saw the Novita Air Purifier, they remarked that they have seen it in their school music rooms and AVA rooms! I was pleasantly surprised that there are air purifiers in schools.

So, what is the use of an air purifier?

As the name implies, an air purifier purifies the air in a room by removing dust particles, allergens and other impurities. Novita PuriClean™ Air Purifier NAP 620 features a 5-step purification process that traps particles in the air while absorbing unpleasant odours. The air purifier is capable of removing up to 99.97% of airborne allergens and germs with a size of 0.3 micrometers in diameter. This includes very fine dusts, haze, smoke particulates, pollen, mold spores and even some bacteria and viruses floating in the air!

Besides removing air particles, the air purifier has a built-in ionizer that is able to produce more than 40 million negative ions to keep airborne allergens and germs at bay while freshening up the indoor air quality.

When we first switched on the air purifier, the sensor light located at the cross-shaped feature of the unit turned green. This sensor light detects the air quality in the surrounding when the unit is being switched on. Green indicates that the air quality in the room is ‘Good’, purple means ‘Moderate’, red means ‘Poor’, while blue means the air quality is ‘Excellent’.

We let the unit run for a while and the air quality light sensor turned blue, indicating that the air quality in the room is now excellent.

It is great that the unit comes with an Auto function. All you need to do is simply switch the unit to Auto Mode, and it will automatically detect the air quality in the room and operate accordingly. When air quality in the room is at superior condition, the unit operates at very low Fan Speed. Once the air quality in the room has reached Excellent condition, the unit stops operating. It will automatically resume its operation beginning at Low Fan Speed and Low Noise Level when it detects that air quality has deteriorated.

With three kids at home, it is definitely good to have an air purifier to ensure that my kids are breathing in clean air.
